I Love Earthquakes - And Survived the Malibu "Bu" Fire of 2007

Well, at least some people in California have a sense of humor, as a couple of really smart pop-culture entrepreneurs are selling T-Shirts "I Love Earthquakes - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen survived the Bu Fire of 2007." Of course, "Bu" is what the locals in Malibu call it, the Bu At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul as Paris Hilton would say; "It's hot." Indeed, too hot for comfort, a house a few doors down from Paris Hilton's beach house burned to the ground there. The entire city is a giant inconvenience, traffic mess and Federal Disaster area now.

Many $15 million plus homes are a total loss, a church is leveled and many businesses are gone, but for two-young entrepreneurs these new T-shits are selling like hot cakes. Apparently, as the story goes, a couple at the Cross Creek Starbucks, said, "Oh God - I'll take earthquakes any day over these fires" and that is HUGO Man Of A Thousand Faces the entrepreneur, thought, why not make T-Shirt that says; "I Love Earthquakes" in commemoration of the Malibu 2007 fires.

He designed the T-shirt on his machine and started silk screening his entire supply of Hanes Beefy T's, then ran around Nightmare selling them and sold out, ordered more shirts, sold them and ran out again and now he doubled up and will keep selling them for the next month. The new Malibu quote of the month; "I Love Earthquakes" and one person said; "Yah, bring them on!"

Unfortunately, I was not there that day that the original conversations launched this new business, but had I been there, I would have loved to participate in the "royalties" and then bought a big house on the beach like Paris Hilton.
